The Zoom F8n Pro is a professional multitrack recorder for use in every conceivable mobile scenario . It impresses with shiny, field-ready workmanship , studio-quality electronics, an intuitive user interface, and fail-safes at the power supply and data recording levels. The ultra-low noise preamps combined with 32bit floating point sampling provide an exceptionally wide usable dynamic range , eliminating the need to re-level for volume fluctuations and allowing the system to be driven at significantly lower overall levels . Sudden sound events can thus also be captured in excellent quality and do not render the recording unusable due to clipping.

Using industry-standard interfaces, the field recorder can be integrated into modern camera and mobile setups . It features a pair of time code I/O , a 4-pin Hirose connector for connection to external battery packs, and protruding handles for strap attachment . High-pass filters, phase inversion, and limiters can be applied to each individual channel, and a mid-side converter is available in the internal routing matrix . In addition, a microphone from the Zoom capsule series can be connected via Zoom 's 10-pin connector . The prerecord function allows continuous recording of audio up to 6 seconds before the record button is pressed.
