The Sandberg California VM4 MN MRHG Metallic Red High-Gloss is a superbly constructed bass guitar, from the renowned German manufacturer.

The cult bass company from Braunschweig in Lower Saxony presents a 4-string electric bass for every musical application. Besides the classic wood combination of alder for the body and maple for the neck, the bass impresses with powerful Sandberg pickups and an active 2-band tone control.

Classically Constructed 5-String:

The construction of Sandberg California VM4 MN basses requires the builders to rely on traditional specifications and produce the body from Ash, whilst the neck is made from hard maple and carries a maple fingerboard. In connection with the 6x bolted neck screw connection, the 4-string has a loud basic tone with detailed frequency mapping and a crisp response. A comfortable playable "C" profile and a flat 14” radius fretboard make every groove easy to handle on the wide neck during performance.

Versatile Sounds:

The Sandberg California VM4 is designed for electric tone conversion with two in-house pickups, which give it a wide sound spectrum suitable for any musical style and low-end reproduction with harmonically precise articulation. The close mounted Sandberg Powerhumbucker has a powerful sound and rich low end, supported by an enormous midrange presence, so that a high assertiveness is given. The Sandberg Split Coil in the middle position, on the other hand, produces a fat sound with pronounced bass and glassy highs, which form the perfect basis for pushing bass lines. Thanks to the large steel poles the pickup also has natural compression, which gives a smooth playing feeling. A perfectly tuned 2-band tone control is also on board to further adjust the sound.

Sandberg Hardware:

High-quality hardware from our own company completes the equipment of the Sandberg California VM5. The Sandberg Bridge sits on the body, whose weight contributes significantly to the harmonious sound of the 4-string. In addition, each string rider can be adjusted in three dimensions, so that in addition to intonation and string position, the string spacing can also be perfectly matched to any playing style. Four lightweight Sandberg Machine Head tuners at the headstock ensure precise tuning.
